ICRA's purpose is to promote and advance the interest of those persons engaged in the profession of shorthand reporting and voice writing throughout the state of Iowa, to develop greater awareness in appreciation for the profession through public education, and to generally promote the shorthand reporting and voice reporting industries.

Members of the Iowa Court Reporters Association are official and freelance court reporters, captioners and CART providers, including in- and out-of-state participating members and nonresident members; teachers of court reporting and captioning programs; and court reporting students.

The annual membership fee for participating members is $115; nonresident members, $50; associate members (any teacher of court reporting or anyone connected in an official capacity with a school or college conducting a court reporting course), $50; and student memberships are free of charge.

Associate Member - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st
Your membership renewal date will be: Thursday, January 01, 2026 No automatically recurring payments Any teacher of court reporting, captioning, or CART provider program or anyone connected in an official capacity with a school or college conducting such a course. Such persons need not meet the requirements for skill in the art of use of machine shorthand. Associate members are not allowed to vote.

Friend of ICRA - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Person, Business, or Firm wishing to support ICRA.

Nonresident Member - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st
Your membership renewal date will be: Thursday, January 01, 2026 No automatically recurring payments Any court reporter, captioner, or CART provider who is a nonresident of Iowa and who is not actively engaged as a court reporter, captioner, or CART provider in Iowa and who would be otherwise ineligible as a participating member shall be eligible for nonresident membership.

Professional Membership - $115.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st
Your membership renewal date will be: Thursday, January 01, 2026 Automatic renewal (recurring payments) Any competent court reporter, captioner, or CART provider who is a resident of Iowa
or is actively engaged as a court reporter in
the state, having received a certificate as a
Certified Shorthand Reporter as provided in
Section 602, Code of Iowa, shall be eligible be for professional membership in this association

Retired Member - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments Any member no longer engaged in the reporting profession.

Student Membership - Free Subscription period: Unlimited Any student enrolled in a court reporting, captioning, or CART program.
